Novice Galas
New Earswick Swimming Club is a competitive swimming club and
teaches children to swim competitively before passing them into
an organised training scheme.
As part of a child's competitive development, they will be
exposed to two novice galas per year. These galas are run by the
teachers and give swimmers the chance to taste competitions.
Swimmers choose the event they would like to perform in (usually
their favourite stroke) and will then compete against other
swimmers in their class who have chosen to perform the same
stroke.
All participants receive some form of reward. The first 3 places
in each event receive medals and the following participants
receive sweets.
This is a great way to get swimmers involved in competitions!
