Senior Performance

Senior Performance (SP) aims to place swimmers in National Championships. Emphasis will now move to endurance, speed and aerobic capabilities; however technique will not be forgotten. Swimmers will be expected to hold great technique whilst performing tough endurance sets.

General Information

Time: 5 Sessions per Week.
Distance: 3,500m - 6,500m per Session.
Max. Swimmers: 16.

Main Emphasis

  • Perfection of Stroke Technique.

  • Development of general endurance.

  • Improvement of aerobic capabilities.

  • Further Development of lactate tolerance.

  • Basic Speed.

  • Kicking.

  • Pulling/Paddle Work.

  • Further Development of Power.

  • Starts/Turns/Push-offs (Streamlining)

  • Stroke counting and holding.

  • Land Conditioning.

Session Breakdown:

80% Swim
15% Kick
5% Starts, Changeovers & Turns
