New Earswick Swimming Club was founded in 1967 and since then has taught hundreds of children to swim, some of which reached County, Regional or National standard. All our teachers and coaches are ASA qualified and the Club has ASA Swim 21 Accreditation at Skill Development level.

The club is operated entirely by a volunteer workforce, and for this reason alone New Earswick Swimming Club continues to offer low cost aquatic activities to habitants of the surrounding areas.

Can you inspire the next generation?

At NESC, we are always looking for new volunteer teachers or coaches.

Are you a former swimmer, perhaps someone who competed in galas for the club many years ago who would like to give back some of the time that you yourself benefited from?  Or are you a parent, maybe even a non-swimmer, who would like to help children learn essential, potentially live saving, skills and for you yourself to gain new skills and confidence?   If so, we’d love to hear from you.

All of our Teachers/Coaches are parents whose children swim at the club (or have done in the past) and it’s only through their voluntary time that we can keep the club going at such low cost.  We offer full training and the chance to gain lifetime qualifications.   The rewards are many.

After a trial period and gaining of a qualification you will qualify for free club membership and/or free swimming for your child.   Please do consider helping out.  If you’re tempted, but not quite sure whether it’s for you, why not go poolside for a few weeks to get a feel for the role?   All volunteers will need to go through a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.

If you’d like further information please email .

Swim time change:

With effect from Friday 8th July (until September), the Friday night session at St Peters will start at 7.45pm.

Summer Maintenance Closure:

New Earswick pool will be closed from Friday 12th 8:30pm to Monday 29th August for maintenance.  There will be no coaching, teaching or recreational sessions at the pool during these dates.  The pool will reopen on Tuesday 30th August.
